The Elan Ripstick 96 has been our go to recommendation for an ultra versatile, all-mountain ski for years. The new Elan Ripstick Tour 94 gives us an equally awesome recommendation for an all around touring ski. Just clicking in under 1500g per ski, this hits a sweet spot of just being very friendly on the uphill, but has all the classic Ripstick features like their Amphibio profile and carbon reinforcements to strengthen that downhill experience. If you are looking for a one-backcountry-ski quiver, this should be at the top of your list. Please note this ski is a true touring model and is NOT compatible with any alpine bindings or crossover bindings like the Marker Duke PT or Salomon Shift models.
