This redesigned Griffon from 2021 and newer has emerged as a go-to binding for me. The Griffon has always been a dependable performer once your boot was locked in but old versions were a bit tricky to get the heel into, demanding alot of force to click in. This always made me hesitant to mount the old (pre 2021) Griffon on my skis. But in 2021 Marker redesigned the Griffon heel with that feedback in mind and now I find it to be one of the easiest bindings to get into and it has a nice lock down heel snap that inspires confidence that you're locked in and ready to ski hard. I haven't had any trouble ever getting into the new Griffon heel whether in deep powder or in a dicey situation at the top of a slick wind buffeted peak. Everything about this binding reeks of confidence inspiring burliness like a nice wide toe box plus the aforementioned heel lock down so I wouldn't hesitate to send big lines in this binding. Another huge plus of the Griffon is the SoldID which means that you don't have to adjust the toe height when switching from a GripWalk sole to a standard old boot sole. This can be a huge plus if you switch between boots at all. All in all this is a binding that I would definitely recommend to friends and that I'll continue riding.

Our Take:

For the 2021 season Marker has updated the Griffon, and we can't believe we are saying it, but somehow they have made it even better. It still boasts the much loved Triple Pivot Elite toe, with a horizontally oriented spring to maximize power transfer from your boot to the ski. The low profile metal gliding Anti Friction Device only adds 24 mm of stand height to the ski, and the SoleID technology accommodates any boot sole norm. Marker has also added an Anti-Ice Rail to help keep your boot soles free from snow, and putting the power down on every turn.

New for the 21 season, Marker has updated the industry leading Inter Pivot Heel to make it more accommodating with an easier step in. Don't worry though, it still has the same vertical spring that helps provide gobs of elastic travel and powder transfer. Proving why it is one of the biggest names in the business, Marker has proven that just because something is good, doesn't mean it can't be better, and the new and improved Griffon is proof of that.

Please note the features listed below are only for the 2021 Marker Griffon.
