Elan Ripstick Tour 104 Skis

This Ski Is A Staff Favorite:

The Elan Ripstick Tour 104 skis are light - like super light. Like beams from the sun light. I paired these up with the Dynafit Rotation and the precut Elan skins, and I can honestly say I have never had a more pleasant uphill experience in my life. In a couple of thinner patches of the early season bowl I was skiing, I put the skis on my back in an A-Frame carry and I barely noticed that they were there. They have a tip and tail built for clips so you can say goodbye to stopping to fix your skins on the way up, too. On the way down, these skis handled the mixed conditions I was skiing well for their weight. That said, I would definitely consider these skis to be more of a mid season daily driver for touring: they handle soft snow and un-bumped slush well and don't chatter at all under those conditions. These would also be a reliable (though probably a bit heavy for task) ski-mo ski. I would be inclined to trust these in high consequence terrain more than just about any other touring specific ski that I've been on.

Our Take On The 2025 Elan Ripstick Tour 104:

The name of the game in the future is light weight, and the Elan Ripstick Tour 104 does not disappoint. This touring edition of the Ripstick carries over all of the characteristics we have grown to know and love in the conventional Ripstick, just in a lighter, uphill friendly, (and incredibly good looking) package. Tweaking the construction to shave weight, but maintain downhill performance, the Ripstick Tour feels like a backcountry specific version of the classic. Using Carbon Bridge Technology, the infamous hollow carbon rods are brought down to a single rod, and now run through the center of the ski for dampness and shock absorption. 360 Degree sidewalls are still a full sidewall, just trimmed down in shape to trim weight. Elan still keeps the left/right ski, Amphibio profile shape. That creates the elusive (and magic) combination of maneuverability, but still locked in, for those tight spaces, steep turns, and variable snow. What more could you ask for in your touring ski? Please note this ski is a true touring model and is NOT compatible with any alpine bindings or crossover bindings like the Marker Duke PT or Salomon Shift models.
