For the ladies who want a light, lively, and flickable wide ski for soft snow, look no further than the Elan Ripstick 106 W. Expanding the women's Ripstick line even wider, Elan adds the Ripstick 106 W to their lineup with fresh updates to the design. The core philosophy of the design remains the same—build a ski that maximizes performance on all parts of the mountain with innovative design. The Amphibio rocker profile designates a specific left and right ski, with the outside edge of each ski having more rocker for maneuverability and better turn linkage and a longer effective edge along the inside edge for better grip. On snow, this ski feels extraordinarily quick and nimble. A ski this wide shouldn't carve as well as it does, but it does. This makes the Elan Ripstick 106 W a great versatile option despite the wider width.
We love this as an option for women who want something with good skiability and isn't prohibitively hard to flex into. Despite being a bigger ski, it doesn't toss you around and feel bulky with the lighter weight and nimble ride. To gain stability without too much weight, Elan uses their new Carbon Deck Tech. Following the trend of their rocker profile, there's a thicker strip of carbon along the inside edge, and a narrower strip on the outside edge. Carbon adds stability, but also a lot of pop and energy.
