Great All Mountain Boards!!!
I've been skiing on Austrian "Iron lungs" for years (skied professional and was sponsored by three different Austrian manufacturers at different times ...). I moved from Blizzard Bonifides to these ski's last season and I couldn't be happier. They have similar performance to the Bonifides but are several ounces lighter per ski (I'm in my mid-50s and while I'm still strong this makes my day on the mountain much nicer ....). The shovel is a little bit tighter and the tail a little softer then the Blizzards. For me the latter is the only negative ... and it's really miner. I tend to ski a tiny bit on my heels and like a stiffer tail ... but these aren't "soft" just less stiff then my other all mountain boards. Not an issue just a small point. Anyway, I'll ride these for at least another season before adding a new pair of all mountains to my quiver ...

review of Volkl Mantra M5
This is a well balanced ski which is good in crud, performs well in groomers and does OK in up to 7-8 inches of fresh powder. It is best in medium sized turns. At the end of the day, your feet will feel the ski; it is heavy.

Building off the success of its legacy-building predecessors, the fifth generation of the Mantra has dominated since Volkl released it two years ago. Back for 2021 with a slightly updated paint-job, it's a radar-shattering sports car mashed up with an off-road-revelling Jeep Wrangler. For what it's worth, we have loved it since our first test, when three of our staffers just about beat their hoots and hollers down the hill at Copper Mountain. In addition to challenging the speed of sound, the M5 features enough tip and tail rocker to slay bumps, trees, and mixed snow as a legit all-mountain destroyer. Whether you ski in the East, West, or Middle, and as long as you promise to give the M5 all you've got, this ski will reconfigure what you thought you knew about all-mountain skis. If you haven't yet, it's time to give ‘er a rip. Similar skis: Blizzard Bonafide, Salomon Stance 96, Kastle FX96 HP.
