Boots are sized in Mondo sizing. Here is a sizing chart for your convenience. In general, beginners want a boot that directly corresponds to their street shoe size. Intermediates should go a half size smaller. Experts should go a full size smaller.
The OG itself, the Scarpa Maestrale returns for the 2023-2024 season completely overhauled. With an all-new mold and construction, the Scarpa Maestrale is truly better than ever. The updated Maestrale is constructed with Pebax R-New - a sustainable, plant-based material that's environmentally friendly and still delivers the performance you'd expect from Scarpa. The Pro Flex Intuition liner can easily be heat molded to your foot, making this boot extra comfy and warm, which turns out to be pretty important on long hut trips or full days out in the backcountry. Scarpa added a new carbon core cuff to increase power transmission and stability, giving you extra confidence to push a little harder. With easy-to-use buckles and their time-tested walk/ski mechanism that locks the spine in place, the Maestrale is a do-it-all boot that is ready to handle any type of terrain. Whether you're just breaking into the backcountry, or looking for an uphill-focused boot that can handle resort days with ease, the Scarpa Maestrale is one of our favorite picks year after year.
After we built the ideal all-mountain pole with the Groomer Gripper and the perfect powder stick in the Powder Poker, we asked ourselves what could possibly be next. What combines the nimbleness of an all-mountain pole, with flotation of a powder basket? How can you transition seamlessly from different terrain and conditions with the same pole? Well, we here at Powder7 found a solution for an impossible task: the Ridge Roamer. By taking some of our favorite features from the Powder Poker 2.0 – an extended EVA foam grip for comfort and sturdy graphite composite construction – and transforming it into an adjustable version with fresh art, we think we created the ultimate do-it-all adjustable pole. The Ridge Roamer comes with both a smaller basket, ideal for skiing inbounds, and the powder basket for keeping your poles from sinking through deep snow. Easy swaps mean you get exactly what you need depending on the conditions. Adjustability is especially ideal for backcountry skiing, when climbing with a longer pole is more comfortable, but you may want to ski with a shorter length. Not to mention, our favorite pole art so far from Pow7 artist Sarah Beabout. When choosing a pole mostly comes down to your stylistic flair, why not pick a good looking one?

It’s finally arrived: a lighter weight, uphill oriented QST. The all new Salomon QST Echo 106 shaves about 400 grams for the pair, while retaining the same QST poppiness and play that we’ve come to expect. Salomon kept some of our favorite tech specs from the original QST, with cork damplifiers in the tips and tails and double ABS sidewalls to dampen the ski and keep things riding smooth even in the most variable of conditions. Salomon keeps the same shape and mold, so you still have the same quick turning and maneuverable feel, which comes especially in handy for those early morning jump turns. At the same time, just as we’ve learned over the years, the QST is undeniably a riot in powder. The QST Echo 106 can transition seamlessly from mid-winter meadow skipping to spring missions without batting an eye. Meet your new backcountry daily driver with the Salomon QST Echo 106.

Backcountry skiers ranging from pros like Cody Townsend and Owen Leeper to our dorky marketing guy trust Pomoca skins with their uphill exploits. The Climb Pro S-Glide is one of the best day-to-day skins in the industry for people who want to dust the skintrack to leave more time for pow turns. Light, efficient, and glidey, these skins do exactly that. But they will not fall apart on a multi-day trip, either. Why? In climbing skins, glue is the make-or-break ingredient...and the Climb Pro S-Glide features some of the most skier-friendly glue in the business. As in, you can actually peel your skins apart without giving yourself a hernia, but they stick all day. But if you need to know one thing about the Pro S-Glide, know this: It glides even better than Pomoca's full-mohair version while adding the superior grip of nylon. That makes it the winner.
