Our Take:
For 2023, the Maverick 100 Ti returns unchanged, and we're very happy about that. As they developed Maverick, a new collection of all-mountain skis for 2021-22, Atomic worked with 60 testers located across North America. Those testers were a mix of industry types, pros, and everyday fellas. That last demographic is actually a rarity in the ski R&D process. By including more casual/recreational skiers (ie, most consumers), Atomic pretty much guaranteed that the finished products would appeal to every type of skier. The Maverick 100 Ti is the widest underfoot, built with the most rocker, and has the deepest affinity for soft snow. It weighs in on the lighter side for a ski built with two sheets of metal, giving you the best of both worlds: maneuverability and nimbleness plus power. Compared to the Atomic Bent 100, it's more directional with decidedly less freestyle/freeride flavor. But both skis crossover into each others' worlds enough to claim impressive versatility. Stacked up against the rest of the industry's skis around 100mm underfoot, the Maverick 100 Ti manages to carve out a place for itself. It's neither too burly nor dainty, playful nor charge-y, heavy nor light. And for a whole lotta skiers, that balance is just right. Similar skis: K2 Mindbender 99 Ti, Head Kore 99, Dynastar M-Pro 99.
