Have you ever jumped out of a rocket ship from outer space, pulled off the most ridiculous trick mid-air, and landed softly on your feet in the middle of the desert? Me neither. But I have skied the Volkl Revolt 121! This ski has an incredible ability to do it all, no matter how wide it is at the waist.

Need crazy maneuverability in the steeps and trees? Check! Want a fun, agile ski for carving on groomers while heading to your next powder stash? Check! The Revolt 121 will leave you speechless with its perfect balance of high-adrenaline performance and graceful float, no matter the conditions.

If you love flying through the air and landing in a cloud of pure awesome, the Revolt 121 is your ski. And let’s not forget the top sheet—seriously, it's a thing of beauty. Where's the catch? There isn't one.

Powder7 Staff Pick Ryan

If you think a 121mm ski is too wide to rip on anything but blower powder, the Revolt 121 may have you reconsidering that stance.  With a rounded flex pattern that's fairly stiff underfoot and softens up towards the tips and tails, these skis are very stable on edge but still incredibly playful.  The mount point is just over 2cm back from center, so these skis perform just as well landing or skiing switch as they do facing forwards.  Combining that progressive mount point with deep rocker lines, tapered tips and a decent amount of splay, the Revolt is remarkably maneuverable.  Weighing in at around 2200 grams per ski, they have enough weight to blast through variable snow, but aren't so heavy that your legs will turn into jelly before last chair.  Poppy, responsive, surprisingly good on edge and stable in pretty much all conditions- there's a reason you may have seen these on the feet of so many world-renowned freeride athletes!

2025-2026 Volkl Skis Preview

Volkl Skis 2026: The First Look The German engineers and ski nerds across the pond have been hard at work building new skis and updating some key models. Last season, Volkl updated the cult classic Mantra with the M7 Mantra. We thought the updates were a huge win, with staffers saying this is the best Mantra yet. This year, Volkl is turning their attention to some of the more narrow models in their lineup, with a major new update, along with one brand new ski. Check out the details in our Volkl skis 2026 preview. What's New The new Mantra and Mantra W skis, with the light ... Continue Reading

Our Take On The 2026 Volkl Revolt 121:

The Volkl Revolt 121 returns as Volkl's cross between freestyle freedom and boots on the ground performance. The Revolt 121 is a progressive powder ski with twin-tip-esque tip and tail rocker, lots of tip/tail splay, a stout flex underfoot with softer tips and tails, and a big platform for skiing deep snow and stomping big landings. Made Insta-famous by Volkl athlete Colter Hinchcliffe and owned by plenty of Powder7 staffers, the Revolt 121 has no limitations when it comes to freestylin' big-mountain powder skiing. This would be one of our skis for a Japow trip, an Alaskan heli trip, a BC cat trip...or even just the deepest day of the year at our favorite local resort. Or, as Powder7 staffer Ryan likes to ski it, every day. Built wide at 121mm underfoot, and with a solid backbone, the Revolt 121 will stomp landings from however high you air, and blow through piles of chopped pow. Easy and smooth in soft snow, the Revolt 121 will be the ski you remember as a crusty old man while you sip bourbon and recount the golden days. Unless, of course, you are already an old man and you want to hang with the young punks. In that case, the Revolt 121 is your ski for right now. The entire Revolt series comes with fresh graphics designed by graffiti artist Benjamin Gudel, calling to the Revolt's freestyle and punk rock heritage.
