Special SAUCE is RIGHT!!! Prodigies have a poplar core that give them a nice blend of weight and dampness without leaving you stranded huffing and puffing. I swear I could wear these skis anywhere, even the mall and still feel chaos pixie dreamy. They're really swishy, surfy, maneuverable but I didn't notice an ounce of chatter or clatter when taking them to top speed and they HOLD an EDGE! They're not too stiff or damp but they have the feeling of stability as if they had thin sheets of metal in them. I love ripping groomies in em, but they shine super bright in the moguls and trees. That's when I feel like I have wings practically leaping down the mountain. I did an entire bump run in like half the time top to bottom, barely breaking a sweat. You can put plenty of confidence in them blasting fast and weaving trees and moguls. Still have great powder float and crud bustin' capabilities despite the width, loved them on both fresh and skied out powder this year (you could move into the 3.0 if you wanted all this and a little more float on the good stuff). Nice flex without losing oomph for the amount of weight and wompiness it has which makes it a great park ski too, fun to jump and do tricks with. Also: fun to ski switch. This ski is my favorite all mountain ski and will be my next daily driver, pending paycheck. If you want another opinion that I agree with, read Mo's review as well.

The is truly a sweet spot ski! The Faction Prodigy 2s are truly a jack of all trades and a master of all. I love taking these skis for every condition to ski everything. They are super quick in trees with the twin tip profile. In bumps, they charge but are still super manuverable and pivot-y. They've got lots of pop and make me feel like a super star, giving me way more launch than ever before on the baby side hits that I go for. My coworkers teased me for grabbing these for a powder day at Vail, the 98mm waist width is not considered a powder ski dimension. But I just know that I always have the time of my life on these bad boys!

Our Take On The 2025 Faction Prodigy 2:

Fan-favorite and perennial best-in-test, the Faction Prodigy 2 returns for another season. The ski hasn't seen any changes besides fresh art in the last few years, because Faction seems to have found the special sauce. The directional twin-tip design and a lightweight poplar core make the Prodigy ready to smear, surf, and pop off of anything in sight. All that fun doesn't mean you have to sacrifice stability, though. The Prodigy 2 handles groomers as well as any ski in this class thanks to a full-strength sidewall, 3mm of camber, and a medium-stiff flex. At 98mm underfoot, this super versatile all-mountain ski is ready to ride regardless of your ski style or the terrain. For anyone looking for a ski that easily blends playfulness with stability, or those that want a one-ski quiver of fun, look no further than the Faction Prodigy 2.
