Our Take On The 2025 Dynastar M Free 99:

Even though this ski hasn't changed much, we find ourselves coming back year after year. The Dynastar M Free 99 is a playful, twin-tipped ski with a construction that gives you a heck of a lot more versatility than you'd expect. Case and point: staffers at the shop across all ski styles had smiles for miles after testing the ski out. Dynastar uses their unique Hybrid Core that blends damp and shock-absorbing polyurethane with a poppy and lightweight Poplar wood core. The ski wants to take progressive and quick turns, but delivers an incredibly smooth ride up to you. You'll easily find flex at the tip and tails for butters, presses, and easy turn initiation. Meanwhile, the platform underfoot is sturdy and provides you with enough stability to feel confident when the snow isn't as good. Deep tip/tail rocker and taper put this ski solidly in the intuitive and maneuverable category, but the dampness will have you feeling like you can open things up more. We love this ski for playful skiers who want a little more platform than just a wood core, or skiers who want some freeride flair in a sturdy ski. Similar skis: Salomon QST 98, Faction Studio 2.
