Dynastar M Free 108 Skis

This Ski Is A Staff Favorite:

While Dynastar has always appealed to those freestyle skiers they may have summited the freestyle world with these sticks. Now with an all wood construction, the M Free 108 is an agressive, damp, versitile, yet playful piece of equipment for the steep, technical terrain seekers. While this ski rides very intuitively, I wouldn't recommend it for those beginner riders wanting to advance. This is for the skier who can handle it all and wants to ski to push them without any limits. Back bowls at vail? Tight east coast trees? Soft corduroy in the morning? Big cliff drops under the lift? It can do it all!

Like the faux marble top sheet would imply, the Dynastar M Free 108 oozes prestige and excellence. The M Free combines a heavy construction that feels very planted, but a flex pattern and rocker profile that just makes you want to have fun. Easy to pivot, it is extremely confidence inspiring in tight bumps and trees, yet still holds an edge really well on everything but the absolute iciest and worst groomers. The only ski that was good enough for me to ski at the legendary back bowls of Vail (seriously this is the only ski I skied at Vail this year...), this is the perfect "one ski" for someone skiing in the west who likes a ski that exudes playfulness, yet has a suspension like the Maybach it looks like.

Our Take On The 2026 Dynastar M Free 108:

If Dynastar has not been on your radar before, the sleeper big-mountain Dynastar M-Free 108 should point you in that direction. Perhaps one of the skis staff are most stoked on after testing, the M-Free 108 blends an ultra-playful shape with Dynastar's impressively damp/energetic/and-just-good Hybrid Core. At a tasty mid-fat waist width of 108mm, the M-Free 108 will handle every demand you throw at it on big mountains, whether you stomp drops, surf pow, slash spines...or humbly mine your favorite stashes day after day, year after year. New for 24/25, the Dynastar M Free 108 gets a few upgrades M Free fans have been asking for. Dynastar throws in their new Hybrid Core 2.0, a redesigned version of their Hybrid Core, Dynastar uses intricately stacked and layered wood stringers to provide stability with less weight. There's no metal plate underfoot anymore, making the ski lighter in the air (and more sustainably constructed). Dynastar also stiffened up the tail, giving you a little more stability to hold long turns. But, all that rocker and taper remains, so you still get that same iconic maneuverability. The M Free 108 is happy to slash and pivot, but you can open it up for longer turns when you need and want. That's what we call freeride. Similar skis: Salomon QST 106, Armada ARV 106.
