Volkl Skis 2022: The First Look
“My Skis are Tailored.”
There’s no stopping the Volkl Mantra. Already one of the most legendary product names in ski history, the Mantra flips the page to yet another chapter for the 2021-2022 season. The M5, which made waves over its three seasons atop the extensive pile of men’s all-mountain skis, now becomes the M6.
Likewise, the women’s version evolves into the Secret 96.
So what’s the deal with the two newest models?
Well, this isn’t an overhaul. The M6 and the Secret 96 feature some refinement, but they still stick close to their original identities. Each ski features Volkl’s update to Titanal Frame technology (U-shaped metal wrapping the fore and aft parts of the ski): Tailored Titanal Frame. The update puts more metal (wider sheets) in the longer sizes of each ski. So, whereas the M5 was the M5 in all sizes, the M6 gets bulkier and more rigid as you scale up. The idea is to tailor the skis’ performance to the user. Bigger skiers demand more strength while lighter skiers get plenty of power in a softer and more maneuverable ski. Savvy?

What’s New
