A boutique brand out of Chamonix, France that specializes in freeride skis that are way too much fun. We’re not talking about Black Crows (this time)…we’re talking about ZAG Skis.

We are pumped to be the first North American ZAG dealer and even more excited to introduce you to their skis. First, a little get-to-know-you. ZAG was born at the base of Chamonix in 2002. From Day One, their skis have been tested and re-tested on the legendary steeps of Chamonix. Blending freeride flair, touring prowess, and all-mountain versatility, the ZAG collection builds on forward-thinking ski designs. These are skis built by skiers for skiers. Authenticity lives at ZAG’s core.

Also at the core of what ZAG does is sustainability. The brand’s ZAGreen program debuted in 2015, and it focuses on sourcing all of their ski ingredients from as close to the factory as possible. Those ingredients include 33% bio-sourced resin, recycled ski edges, bio-based topsheets, and wood cores that are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

So…what about the skis?

The Slap 104 and Slap 112 are ZAG’s flagship freeride skis. Lightweight poplar/paulownia woodcore, low camber, freeride rocker, and flax/linen fibers for stability and dampening. The Slap 112 is a bit heftier, tuned for big-mountain lines and mixed snow conditions. The design has helped it win the Verbier Xtreme Stage of the Freeride World Tour.

The Ubac 95, Ubac 95 Lady and Ubac 102 comprise the touring collection. These skis are lightweight but strong (able to ski the resort with a hybrid binding like the Salomon Shift or a full-on tech binding). Paulownia wood core plus glass and carbon fiber for dampening and strength. These skis are built with more camber than the Slap, giving you a longer effective edge for hard or sketchy snow conditions. The Ubac 102 is a bit heftier and stronger than the 95.

We were big fans of the Slap 104 and Slap 112 during or first demo. These skis are fun and loose with enough backbone for all-mountain skiing, and they absolutely come alive in any amount of soft snow.
The Ubac 95 Lady carves groomers like a slalom ski and holds up to any snow you throw at it in the backcountry.
