Read all of our Volkl Secret 96 staff reviewsThis ski is highly directional, and definitely dampening. I rode this ski on choppy and groomed terrain, on which it really held its own. It cuts through variable terrain with ease, and holds an edge in the classic directional Volkl fashion. The Secret demands turns from the skier, but rewards the work in stability. It was a bit heavy for extended air time, but certainly carried momentum very stably. I would recommend this ski to someone looking for an all mountain and front side ski that can take you comfortably down bumps, wooded and groomed terrain.
By: BonnieSecret SAUCE is right! For all my lady rippers out there who love to ride all over the mountain and look good doing it, you found you're ski! The Volkl Secret 96 is going to feel stiff but not too hard in a way that's quite responsive and energetic but not overpowering with weight and metal. The metal in this ski is ingeniously placed giving the ski all the performance of a stiff damp ski while alleviating the weight so you can rip on these all day long, trees, bumps, groomers especially. The flat tail makes for an excellent stance corrector so that if you lean too far back, you'll be pushed into that beautiful skier stance, making these excellent for intermediates and old hats alike. Super pleasant, overall easy to carve, with a nice solid feel. I'd say for someone looking for a softer park ski that will absorb shock after a landing, you might want to look elsewhere, such as Volkl's Revolt 96. Still the Secret nicely dampens chatter when you're going fast

If you're a lady shredder who is no compromise when it comes to your skiing, the Volkl Secret 96 is the perfect partner for your all-mountain skiing. The Volkl Secret 96 is a strong, metal-laminate women's all-mountain ski that focuses on precision, stability, and a super planted feel. Following the exact same construction as the men's Mantra, the Secret 96 is a women's ski that isn't softened or shrunk for the sake of being easier to ski, making it a great pair for advanced shredders looking for something to support their skill level.
New for 2024/2025, the Secret 96 gets Volkl's new 4 Radius Drive. This adjusted sidecut in the tip allows for more adaptability (think, nimble 4WD ATVs) in different snow conditions and turn shapes. Turn linkage becomes smoother between turns, and the tip now feels more precise once you've locked it onto a turn. Volkl also adjusted the carbon weave in the tip to be more consolidated (read: more damp and planted) and adjusted the titanal frame's flex to be more intuitive. No doubt about it though, this feels like the most ripping Secret we've ridden in some time. It's smoother, supportive in all the right places, and lays a mean trench. We think it's perfect for ladies who like to ski with a forward stance and prefer their ski on the more planted and smooth riding side of the spectrum, even if that means a little more work.Features:
