Where other premium brands like Stockli do a good amount of the work for you, the MX88 requires some clutch punching, some gear shifting, and some ability to drive. She's a stick shift ski, sure. But a stick shift supercar of a ski. Born in the race room, they're fine-tuning their highest performing skis to perfection and they absolutely nailed it with the MX88. I couldn't be happier on any ski condition day with this ski. My stick shift Corolla may be somewhere in a junkyard in Texas right now, but it taught me how to ski one of the most solid skis that my boots have touched.

Our Take On The 2026 Kastle MX88:

Skis with 88mm waist-widths, like the Kastle MX88, are hotter this year than DIY sushi bakes. Don’t get it? You must not have Instagram. Anyway, the MX88 rages into 2024-2025 with a hot-fire topsheet, a nice departure from the white look of old. Plus, Kastle redesigned the front half of the ski with a new mold to make it quicker and more precise than ever. Don’t be fooled though: The MX88 still packs a punch. Two sheets of metal bring torsional strength and power and long camber ensures strong edge grip. The Kastle MX series has long been a powerhouse with smooth performance second to none. Kastle fans can rest assured that the new version more than holds up.
