Since Icelantic released it, the Nia Pro 105 has been a perennial top pick in the wider all-mountain ski and freeride categories. Arguably, it has rocked the best graphics in the collection over the last few years (remember when it started with that rad fireweed graphic?). Its the flower ski, but it skis as hard as any model in the Icelantic lineup. Blending full rocker with a stout flex pattern, the Nia Pro gives you a unique on-snow feel (at a time when uniqueness feels hard to come by). It pivots with lightning-quick agility, floats in pow, and is plenty comfy skidding and sliding turns. But get this: It also carves well, too, and has enough backbone to handle tough snow conditions. No, you dont get the rebound or effective edge length that camber affords. But instead, you get edge-to-edge agility, solid suspension, and enough dampness to make you feel supported as you push the skis speed limit. Thats because Icelantic built the Nia with Reflective Rocker, a full-rocker design that matches the sidecut to optimize edge grip. Intermediate skiers have no trouble handling this ski (its also quite light), and advanced to expert skiers enjoy its versatility and flavor. After all, why be boring? The Nia Pro 105 stops short of the power youll get in a ski with metal (like the Nordica Santa Ana or Volkl Secret). But as a trade-off, you get more playfulness and ease of use with enough all-mountain chops to make the Nia a viable daily driver for people who enjoy wide-ish skis. Its an all-time top choice in this category among Powder7 staffers and friends of the shop. Go onget the flower ski.
