This Ski Is A Staff Favorite:

The Blizzard Sheeva 9 can ski it all, and have fun doing it. It struts its directional Blizzard roots through its capability on edge, and on harder packed, early season terrain. This ski is an excellent option for all-mountain and stays comfortable and controllable across the hill. I really had fun on this ski as a lighter weight skier, as its construction proves to be lightweight without sacrificing power. Blizzard's "TrueBlend" technology gives the Sheeva 9 a nicely balanced flex, providing stability at higher speeds and responsiveness in tighter, more technical terrain. It dampens and rides comfortably on variable and choppy terrain, and prevails in floatability on shallow fresh snow. I had a lot of fun getting this ski in the air, and playing around all over the mountain!

This ex-racer has officially been converted to freeride-style skis thanks to the Sheeva 9. Growing up in the midwest, I'm used to handling all sorts of crud and icy conditions- after taking the Sheevas out for a spin, I know they can handle it all! Thanks to the strategically placed metal under foot, these skis feel solid on-piste and the edges held amazingly across icy patches. The lighter tips and tails make it really maneuverable- this is truly an all-mountain ski!

Woof... This ski really can do it all! I feel totally comfortable bringing this ski with me anywhere in the resort. With metal underfoot, it can absolutely rip on groomers and you can really feel the power of the ski directly under your feet. With the tips and tails left metal-free, it leaves a lot of room for playfulness and liveliness, making it super versatile. The Sheeva 9 is a great option for a someone looking for that magical one-ski-quiver that can handle any conditions at the resort. All of us ladies at Powder7 are still drooling over this one, and I can not wait until I can ride it again!

Our Take:

Since it first debuted in 2017, the Sheeva lineup from Blizzard has been impressing female skiers across the board for its balance of playfulness and precision. The narrowest ski in the Sheeva lineup, the Sheeva 9, returns with no changes for 2021-2022, a smart choice in our books. It might be the skinniest of the three sisters, but it also packs the most punch. The Sheeva 9 features more metal than its big sisters, with a titanal layer underfoot that pushes closer into the tips and tails before shifting to carbon. That change in construction means the 9 is even better on hard snow than its siblings, but still manages to keep much of the playfulness and soft snow performance that the Sheevas are known for. Ideal for ladies looking for a little more rip and precision from their skis, or those that tend to see a bit more firm conditions (we're looking at you, East coasters). The Sheeva 9 still has plenty of width and tip rocker to handle most resort days, and also is light enough to serve as an alpine touring option. The test: make skiing all over the mountain more enjoyable. The grade: A+.
