Working on the Right Moves.

With a $4.5 million investment in product to mark its 100-year anniversary, Volkl holds strong in the fast lane for the 2022-23 ski season. Rather than splashy new models or gimmicks, the new line highlights a calm and steady commitment to quality.
Known for introducing intentional design updates that matter on snow (rather than falling into the “frills” category), Volkl’s biggest change for the new season is the expansion of Tailored Carbon Tips. First seen in last year’s M6 Mantra, the tech now reaches more skis in the collection. Marked by its spider-web appearance, these carbon tips tailor the stiffness and torsional strength of every model to seamlessly match the terrain and skiing style it’s built for. In models geared more for hard snow and carving, like the Racetigers, the tailored carbon extends further into the body of the ski from the tips down. In skis, like the Mantra 102, that seek softer snow, you get a shorter area of tailored carbon.
That tailored carbon pairs with tailored titanal (also previously introduced in the M6) to optimize the skis for the skier in every size. For the new season, the Mantra 102 and Kendo 88 receive those updates, mirroring the M6’s evolution from a year ago.
The bottom line for the updates? According to one Volkl rep: “The skis still reward aggression, but they don’t require it.”
