Rossignol Skis 2023 Preview

Rossignol Skis 2023: First Look

Let’s get sendy.

For 2023, Rossignol skis get another healthy update. After revamping their Experience collection last season, Rossignol turns their attention to the freeride collection. The idea? Simplify the names in the series to make it easier to identify what you are looking for. Skis are broken up into directional freeride (the Senders) and more progressive freeride (the Black Ops).

Rossignol Skis 2023: First Look

The former Black Ops Sender Ti and Sender are slimmed down to the Sender 106 Ti + and Sender 104 Ti. The original Sender always had metal in it, but not quite as much as the Sender Ti. The goal of the name change is to better illustrate how the skis are constructed with a quick look. The Escaper is now the Sender 94 Ti. The Sender Squad returns unchanged as their charging, big mountain, pro model.

For the ladies, the Rallybirds return as the Rallybird 104 Ti and Rallybird 102, unchanged from last year. The only major difference between the men’s and women’s is a different order for the layer of carbon in the Rallybird 104 Ti. The Rallybird 102 and 92 (formerly the Stargazer) feature a slightly thinner core to keep it more lightweight.

Check out our review of the Senders back in 2020.

The Senders get a new, uber clean topsheet upgrade.

In the Black Ops collection, we have the former Gamer and Holyshred. Slimmed down to keep it simple, there’s the Black Ops 118 and Black Ops 98. Each ski comes in two topsheet options, depending on what length you are looking for. The 186cm 118 features the swamp design, where the 176cm length comes with the River.

The new Black Ops skis, with the two 118 top sheets on the left, with the 98 in the “Dusk” top sheet on the right. There’s also a “Night” top sheet option (not shown here), with the same design, just in a much darker color story.

Other Highlights

Rossignol’s alpine boots also get some upgrades for 2023. They’re now using a dual core injection, and use carbon to help give the boot some rebound and more energy when flexing into the boot. The liners also use a thin plastic membrane to retain shape in key spots.

The Experience collection, their classic all mountain skis, return unchanged for 2023.

Rossignol’s touring skis, the new Escapers, get a fresh upgrade with a more progressive side cut and more rocker in the tip and tail.
