Elan Skis 2023: First Look
As longtime Ripstick fans, Elan’s 2023 skis are very exciting for us here at Powder7. Just when we thought Elan had thought of everything to improve the Ripstick lineup, they saw our bet and raised us a brand new ski.
What’s New
Shaking up the alpine touring scene, Elan introduces the Ripstick Tour. Coming in an 88, 94, and 104, they offer a touring ski for every condition. We found the Ripstick Tour 104 particularly versatile during our few days of testing in different conditions.
Changing up the construction, the Tour features loads of new tech to shave weight, but maintain that Ripstick character we know and love. Carbon Bridge Technology is single carbon rod that runs underfoot right through the center of the ski. 360 Sidewalls are a trapezoidal shaped to drop grams, without losing rigidity. Additional carbon reinforcement is included to help stabilize the ski and give energy, without adding extra rods.

Ripstick Black Edition also gets a new addition to the family: the Ripstick 94 W Black Edition. Same construction as the other Black Editions, just with an incredibly attractive tiger stripe top sheet. This comes in a size run from 146cm to 178cm, finally offering a stiffer Ripstick in shorter lengths. Personally, we think the stripes help you go faster.
Other Highlights
The rest of the Ripsticks come back unchanged inside, but get a fresh coat of paint after a couple of years of the same top sheet.
Elan’s all mountain collections, the Wingman and Wildcat, return unchanged as well.
