Rossignol Super Black Ops 98 Skis

This Ski Is A Staff Favorite:

Powder7 Staff Pick Kyle H
By: Kyle H
If you're a person who likes skiing playful yet reliably stable skis like myself, the Rossignol Super Black Ops 98 is an ideal choice. I skied this in a 182 at Loveland, which means dealing with all sorts of snow conditions from deep snow in the trees, to skied off moguls and rocks. This ski was able to cut through chop while still maintaining a bouncy and playful feel, and felt stable at high speeds which I always appreciate. Plus the retro topsheet and matching Rossignol super pivots are a perfect pairing for anyone looking to yassify their ski set up.

Our Take On The 2025 Rossignol Super Black Ops 98:

The same Rossignol Black Ops 98 you know and love, just with a fresh new retro-inspierd colorway. With a name like the Black Ops, you know this ski means business. The Black Ops 98 returns to the skis roots by removing "Holyshred" from the name, but with no internal construction updates from last year. Which is a good thing for us, since the Black Ops 98 has been an underground, Powder7 shop favorite the last couple of seasons. On the surface, the Black Ops features some playful characteristics-rocker in the tip and tail, with plenty of camber underfoot-but has a bit of a backbone to it. The construction is beefy enough to charge through chop, the hard stuff and everything in between with ease, but remains nimble in bumps and tight spots. Rossignol adds their Damp Tech as well, which acts as suspension and absorbs vibrations and inconsistencies in variable snow. To top it all off, a layer Diagofiber (which is a pretty gnarly sounding name) adds responsiveness and energy. This ski has a ton of pop when transitioning between turns and hitting little drops or side hits. Playful when you want it, and can charge when you need it to, the Black Ops 98 is the partner we all wished we had on top secret missions.
