This Ski Is A Staff Favorite:

Far too often, I hear companies marketing skis as the “do-it-all” solution every skier is looking for—the mythical "one-ski quiver." As an admitted ski nerd, I tend to believe that such a thing doesn’t really exist. After all, it's about using the right tool for the right job.

That said, while I won’t claim that this ski is equally great at carving on icy groomers as it is at charging through double overhead powder, I will say that the Sender Free 110 is as close to a true daily driver for a West Coast skier as I’ve ever come across—especially for those who spend most of their time off-piste.

With its forgiving rocker profile and progressive mount position (though more traditional skiers might want to move the mount point back slightly depending on their size selection), the Sender Free 110 is nimble, intuitive, and fun to ride. The friendly shape, paired with a solid flex pattern and a dense build, allows it to plow through crud with ease. While some skiers may hesitate at the listed weight, I found that the ski’s burlier construction actually enhances its downhill performance— we're riding chairlifts, after all.

It’s mellow enough for a laid-back skier to enjoy, yet strong enough to make its way to a Freeride World Tour podium. The Sender Free 110 has as wide a range as any ski on the market. While I still believe in using the right tool for the right job, the Sender Free 110 might just be a different tool entirely.

As a person who grew up racing on the unforgiving east coast ice but wants to become more silly with it here in Colorado, the Rossignol Sender 110 Free was a delightful surprise to ski on. These skis are all business when they need to be: chargy, stable, and strong when you need to cut through crud or carve fast. A the same time the Sender is surprisingly playful. I take this ski out more than any other due to my confidence in it's ability to handle anything while still being able to flirt with side hits, moguls, and trees fairly easily. They ride somewhat short: I am 5'11 and like the 184 length best.

I have a problem: I like WAY too many skis. That said, I don't LOVE every ski. With the Sender Free 110, though, it was love at first run. I feel like "Sender"ella finding her glass slipper.

I've owned the Black Ops 118 for years, and it's an awesome powder/chop ski, but I have always wished it came in a slightly narrower (and maybe a bit lighter, too, if we're being honest) option that would make a bit more sense as an everyday ski out west. So when I saw the Sender Free 110, I felt pretty confident I had found just that. Needless to say, it did not disappoint (not even a little!).

It feels quicker, more energetic, and much better on edge than the Black Ops 118. It loses some ability to bulldoze through chop, but the difference feels marginal for what it gains in other respects. It's hands-down one of the best skis I've ever clicked into, especially when it comes to balancing stability, maneuverability, and playfulness.

I'm 6'1", 185lbs and fairly aggressive, and would be pretty happy on the 184cm or the 191cm depending on what mountain/terrain I was spending most of my time at. If you're between sizes like me, it's stable enough to size down on, and also forgiving enough to size up on, depending on what you're intended use is (I'll be bumping up to the 191cm). Regardless of what size you choose, you can't go wrong with this ski!

    Our Take:

Let’s get a little existential here. What does it mean to “send it”? Is it hitting your line exactly the way you dreamed it up? What about boosting the booter under the lift line as big as you ever have to whoops and hollers galore? Or is it exploring new nooks and crannies in your local mountain playground? Whatever sending means to you, the spirit of “send” is alive and well in the brand new Rossignol Sender Free 110. Taking inspiration from both the freeride oriented Black Ops skis and the more directional Sender skis, the Sender Free 110 balances the performance needed to charge at high speeds and through variable snow with more freeride flavor. You’ll find deeper rocker lines and a more progressive flex in the Sender Free. That means you can more easily slash the ski sideways, pivot, spin to switch, or daffy off a cliff face. Rossi loads the ski up with their latest and greatest technology. Two sheets of poppy Diagofiber and two sheets of their Damp Tech to keep things riding smooth. You get the Air Tip tech in the tip and tail for a lighter swing weight. A titanal beam underfoot holds your bindings in for the biggest sends, and gives you a more planted feeling underfoot when edging on firm snow. So whether sending means pushing your limits or hot laps with the crew, the Sender Free 110 is here for all of it.
