For several years the Black Ops series operated in the shadows, once only available to shop employees and industry insiders. Rossignol's best attempts at being covert couldn't keep the word from getting out, though, forcing the Black Ops series out of the shadows and into the light for the public to see. For 2020-21, Rossignol brings the lineup into full view in a big way, with updated designs, fresh graphics, and new names. The Holyshred - probably short for “Holy *insert filler word* this ski shreds!” - enters as a redesigned Black Ops 98, but gets an updated flex pattern and a new sidecut profile to improve its performance across the board, but particularly in variable snow. Generous rocker lines at the tip and tail, combined with a titanal beam underfoot and damp tech inserts, creates a ski that is plenty playful and surfy, but still inspires plenty of confidence when you're opening it up and arcing turns at speed. Ideal for intermediate to expert skiers who want a freeride-oriented ski that plays as hard as it shreds. The secret's out on this one, so get it while you can!
