Our Take On The 2025 Nordica Unleashed 98:
If you find yourself off trail more often than on, but aren't skiing mega deep powder all the time (which, let's be honest, is most of us), the new Nordica Unleashed 98 should be on your radar. Borrowing shape and construction ideas from different Nordica skis, the Unleashed 98 offers freeride skiers a playful ski without sacrificing performance on other parts of the mountain. Nordica takes their terrain-specific metal, originally introduced in the Santa Ana skis, to the Unleashed. This gives you metal in the tip, tail, and underfoot, letting you blast through chop, crud and rip at high speeds, all without having to worry about instability. Instead of a full sheet of metal though, precise zones are cut out to let the ski flex where you want it to and give a more playful feel. A longer effective edge, but big tip and tail splay simultaneously supports maneuverability and butter-ability, while still feeling locked in when you need to. The 98 in particular will feel at home anywhere on the mountain, quick to wiggle through tight trees, bumps, and groomers, and happy to slash the powder when it does roll into town.
