With its brand new Reckoner 112 skis, K2 brings back an updated version of its much-loved (and damn well named) Shreditor series. Those skis built a huge following among fun-loving skiers with loose and playful styles, and although they did happily receive the Marksman and the Catamaran, many of those skiers still felt a hole in their hearts where the Shreditor used to be. Enter: the Reckoner 112, middleweight of the three new skis (also check out the Reckoner 102 and 122). Refreshingly, one adjective comes to mind with these new shred sticks. Playful. With fairly soft tails, softer tips, and a full helping of rocker, the Reckoner 112 wants to air off everything and surf the softest of powder. Carbon weave, which K2 calls Spectral Braid, helps cut weight versus previous freeride skis from K2...giving you even more versatility and enough strength underfoot to stomp landings or lay some carves. The Reckoner 112 is saying, “Just have fun, dummy.” What will you say? Similar skis: ON3P Jeffrey 108, Faction Prodigy 4.0.
