The Icelantic Maiden series was always an easy recommendation for lady shredders looking for a soft snow ski that surfs with ease. After several seasons of no news, Icelantic dropped a doozie and announced an entirely new Maiden series. The widest of the bunch, the Icelantic Maiden 108, is just as surfy and playful, with added energy and skiability. Added carbon stringers below and above the core give new pop and energy to the ski when you flex into it, or pop off a feature. Icelantic redesigned the tip and tail construction to lower swing weight and make the ski more playful. The flex is a little stiffer and the shape is more smeary than the narrower Maidens, making it perfect for skiers who are charging around the mountain harder. We think the Icelantic Maiden 108 competes with other heavy hitters in the category, especially for women finding a balance between intuitive, fun rides with a platform that can support their ski style.
