We work with the best manufacturers in the winter sports industry, but occasionally defects do occur. If you think your product has a manufacturing defect please contact us. We'll work with the manufacturer to determine if their warranty covers the damage. Determining if the issue is a manufacturing defect is solely up to the manufacturer, not Powder7. Our Take:
The Ripstick series from Elan is arguably the poster child for the "lightweight freeride" category of skis, as they do an amazing job of combining liveliness, responsiveness, stability, and edge hold for a ski of its weight (and not to mention, for a ski without metal). The Elan Ripstick 116 - the powder crusher of the series - is no different in this regard. It brings many of the same qualities of the narrower Ripsticks, but adds a wider platform, extended rocker lines and more rocker splay at the tip and tail, and an overall looser and easier-to-pivot feel than its narrower siblings. Elan's patented Amphibio design blends great maneuverability with exceptional edge hold, while SST Sidewall construction ensures excellent power transmission. Two carbon rods placed in the woodcore run the length of the ski, while additional carbon weave reinforcement is placed on the inside edges to provide support, stability, and strength to the ski without making it exceptionally demanding. A weapon of choice for heli-ski operations to Elan's Freeride World Tour athletes, the Ripstick 116 offers high performance and low weight for crushing steep, deep, and technical lines.
