This Ski Is A Staff Favorite:

The Blizzard Sheeva 9 can ski it all, and have fun doing it. It struts its directional Blizzard roots through its capability on edge, and on harder packed, early season terrain. This ski is an excellent option for all-mountain and stays comfortable and controllable across the hill. I really had fun on this ski as a lighter weight skier, as its construction proves to be lightweight without sacrificing power. Blizzard's "TrueBlend" technology gives the Sheeva 9 a nicely balanced flex, providing stability at higher speeds and responsiveness in tighter, more technical terrain. It dampens and rides comfortably on variable and choppy terrain, and prevails in floatability on shallow fresh snow. I had a lot of fun getting this ski in the air, and playing around all over the mountain!

This ex-racer has officially been converted to freeride-style skis thanks to the Sheeva 9. Growing up in the midwest, I'm used to handling all sorts of crud and icy conditions- after taking the Sheevas out for a spin, I know they can handle it all! Thanks to the strategically placed metal under foot, these skis feel solid on-piste and the edges held amazingly across icy patches. The lighter tips and tails make it really maneuverable- this is truly an all-mountain ski!

Woof... This ski really can do it all! I feel totally comfortable bringing this ski with me anywhere in the resort. With metal underfoot, it can absolutely rip on groomers and you can really feel the power of the ski directly under your feet. With the tips and tails left metal-free, it leaves a lot of room for playfulness and liveliness, making it super versatile. The Sheeva 9 is a great option for a someone looking for that magical one-ski-quiver that can handle any conditions at the resort. All of us ladies at Powder7 are still drooling over this one, and I can not wait until I can ride it again!

Our Take:

The Blizzard Sheeva 9 has long been a top pick for ladies looking to explore the whole mountain with a quick turning, playful, but supportive ski. The "Flux Form" partial metal shape gives more power along the edges where you need it, while still allowing the ski to bend, feel lively, and save weight. The freeride specific True blend wood core delivers a perfectly progressive flex, with stiffer wood stringers underfoot blending into softer wood at the tips and tails. That means a low swing weight, keeping your legs fresher through that Hollywood lift line bump run, while ensuring you still have plenty of power to bite into the snow. With a width of around 96mm depending on the length, the Sheeva 9 is the narrowest of the bunch, and features the most metal to provide more support in firm snow. Whether you're looking for a more maneuverable all-mountain ski, or a narrow freeride option for exploring off trail, the Sheeva 9 is a solid choice for progressing intermediates and seasoned experts alike. Similar skis: K2 Mindbender 99 Ti W, Salomon Stance 94 W.
