This Ski Is A Staff Favorite:

One of my favorite pairs of skis I've ever been on. Took these to my trip to Alaska this year and they were absolutely amazing. Super damp, hugged the groomers and were just silky smooth from top to bottom. With a 102 underfoot, this ski was able to tackle anything the mountain threw at me.

If you take a look at my picture on this website, you'll see that I've got my arms around my one true love, pointing some finger guns with a smile of pure joy on my face. That one true love is the Blizzard Rustler 10. Dramatic? Maybe. But ladies and gents, there's a reason this ski ranks towards the top of the list of the ever crowded "all-mountain" skis category year after year since it's inception in 2018. At 102 underfoot, this ski lands in that perfect waist width sweet spot in my opinion, especially if you prefer your daily driver to be a bit on the wider side. What really sets this ski apart to me, is the sheet of metal down the middle of the ski, right where you need it to provide that torsional stability to lay down some serious trenches on the groomers, but at the same time the uber rockered and soft tips and tails, providing the float and maneuverability in the fun stuff (read: trees and bumps). Super easy to pivot, yet at the same time super easy to carve, I have a hard time recommending another ski to anyone looking for that perfect daily driver (which is everyone, let's be honest).

I'll shoot straight: The Rustler 10 is, in my book, the best ski of 2018. Why? It defines its own niche. In the B.R. (Before Rustler) years, finding a ski in the justifiably popular and crowded field of versatile all-mountain options around 100mm underfoot involved choosing between hard-snow and soft-snow pleasure. Not anymore. I've taken the Rustler down hard-packed and hairy steeps, cut-up back bowls, powder-choked trees, and fast groomers. The ski doesn't just do everything, it crushes everything. And it's not hard to see why. Titanal and carbon make it bomber strong, while its shape, rocker, and multi-wood core give it energy and playfulness. The kicker? It's shockingly lightweight for what it is, making it as much a viable backcountry option as a resort stud. Well done, Blizzard.

Our Take:

As the old tale goes, Golidlocks walks into the Three Bears' House and starts testing out their skis. "This ski's too sluggish, this ski's too chattery, but this ski's just right!" And in that moment, Goldilocks has grabbed the trusty Rustler 10. In the ever crowded category of 100mm-waisted all-mountain skis, the Rustler continues to be at the top of the list year after year. Slotting right between the more front-side oriented Rustler 9 and more powder oriented Rustler 11, the Rustler 10 at 102mm underfoot does just about everything you need it to. The magic in this ski comes from the specially tailored sheet of titanal underfoot, that stops right where the rocker begins. The result? Torsional stability where you need it, but buttery softness and manuervability when the going gets tight (read: trees and bumps). The metal keeps the ski stable at speed on groomers, but the deep rocker lines and soft tips and tails keeps the ski light and easy to swing around. The only change Blizzard made for the 2022-2023 season is fresh graphics and an updated, more durable topsheet. Maybe don't break into a house owned by three full sized bears, but grab a pair of these skis and see for yourself. Similar skis: Salomon QST 106, Moment Wildcat 101, Nordica Enforcer 104 Free.
