This is the best ski in the world. No, seriously - it is the best. Powder performance is through the roof, playfulness is unmatched, it holds an edge, and when the moon is right it speaks to me and tells me to jump off everything. It is Jerry Garcia reincarnated as a ski: it just flows and jams, its only goal to have fun.

If that sounds like something you're into, read on. Otherwise, maybe you should take up something like competitive water drinking, or golf.

With that out of the way let's talk Bent Chetler. This ski has a very progressive mount point without quite hitting that center mount, so it still has a slight directional character which helps keep those tips surfing when the snow is swimming pool deep. The twin tips keep it super maneuverable and encourages you to hit those switch landings and take-offs and the nifty camber gives you the ability to lay down some trenches when you need to get back to the lift.

If we're talking lifts though, we should also talk about the lack thereof... that's right, I'm talking touring. If you, like me, love earning some turns, but don't love skiing around the weekend crowd, and want some real skiing power while you do it, this ski is your ticket to ride. Slap a Salomon Shift (fortuitously made in a perfect 120mm brake) on this snow stick and start walking up hill. At 1750ish grams, it is extremely light for its weight, and even more importantly extremely light for its performance. I ski this in bounds, out of bounds, and everything in between (what is in between, exactly?) and on every snow type. Sure it doesn't handle crud and crunchy wind crust well, but no ski that is fun does anyway.

So don't wait, go grab this stick. Sure you could be $750 richer, but this long strange trip is all about the ride, and this is the best ride of your life.

There's a reason you see the Atomic Bent Chetler 120 at some point in most big mountain film segments these days- they absolutely RIP in powder! They're are extremely light for how wide they are, are fantastic in the air and have a great swing weight. Energetic and quick edge to edge, they are still fun even when it isn't a powder day. Tons of rocker and a progressive mount point make them remarkably maneuverable, so you can slash, pivot and charge down pretty much any terrain!

Such a fun ski! Buttery and smooth in deeper snow, slashy and poppy in more variable conditions. The Bent Chetler 120 is truly is a do all, big mountain/powder ski that is fun in the air, through tight spaces, and of course shacked up in the white room!

Our Take On The 2025 Atomic Bent Chetler 120:

Constantly driving freeride skiing forward, the iconic Atomic Bent Chetler 120 continues to evolve with a new lower-impact design, core and profile that improves float, enhances balance, and boosts playfulness. Based on one of the most revered freeride skis on the mountain, the new Bent Chetler 120 employs next-generation HRZN 3D with a full wrap tip/tail profile for even more playful skiing and better float in the deepest snow. Chris Benchetler’s signature ski and the biggest brother in the Bent family, the reimagined Bent Chetler 120 receives a tip-to-tail upgrade with a new poplar Light Woodcore and lower-impact design that uses more wood and less metal, fiberglass and resin to decrease the environmental impact of the ski’s production. A wildly imaginative top sheet designed by Chris himself uses more recycled material to further reduce the overall carbon footprint. In total, material-related CO2 equivalent emissions were cut by 13% (compared with the Bent Chetler 120, 2022). What’s Chris’ favorite update? He’s super stoked on the new ash wood binding reinforcement band that adds 10% more strength!
