Backland 100 Skis Now On Sale

Our Take On The 2024 Atomic Backland 100:

The Atomic Backland 100 could be the best all-around touring ski on the market. Why, you ask? Well, each year here at Powder7, we weigh the vast majority of our skis by hand and call it the Ski Weights Projects. The goal is to gather our own beta about the skis we carry so we can make more personalized recommendations to customers (and, honestly, so we can all buy the right stuff for ourselves). Anyway, when we weighed the Backland 100 for the first time, we were floored. This ski is one of the lightest touring models around 100mm underfoot on the market. Why is this remarkable? We already knew it would ski great. Atomic has developed a reputation for building freeride skis that handle smoothly, release easily, and handle whatever you throw at them. They are not always the flashiest skis on the market, but they invariably are some of the best. In the Backland 100, Atomic managed to pack that high-quality performance and easy ski-ability into a surprisingly lightweight product that flies up the skintrack, feels feathery on your backpack, and makes the ascent worth it when you start making turns. Honestly...what more do you want out of a backcountry ski? Similar skis: Black Crows Camox Freebird, Line Vision 98.
