2025-2026 Armada ARV 106 Review

[This generation of ARV and this Armada ARV 106 review were released last year. We've updated this review with some new staff feedback, but the ski is unchanged for 25/26 aside from graphics.] Whether you're a freestyle skier or a normie, you'll know the Armada ARV name. Armada often gets pegged as a freestyle company and no doubt that's in their DNA. But there are specialized skis in their lineup for that—and many other options designed to ski the whole mountain. With a variety of freestyle-specific skis in their lineup, Armada is able to explore other shapes and flex patterns that ... Continue Reading

Our Take On The 2025 Armada ARW 106:

You'll find it in ski collector's closets and sheds, just as much as you'll find them in the quivers of freeride comp kids. The Armada ARW 106 is a classic freeride ski that's won the hearts and minds of skiers everywhere. The twin-tip shape works well for freestyle skiers who want a bigger ski for soft snow days, just as well as it does for skiers who like a manuverable and intuitive big-mountain ski. For 24/25, Armada softened the tip of the ski to help give you a little more progression through the front half of the ski. That gives you some more suspension when pushing through choppy snow and makes turn initiation more intuitive. They kept the tail a touch stiffer, to help you hold through longer turns or support big landings. Most importantly, they replaced a traditional sidewall with their "w3dgewall" design. By creating a wedge shape that jams into the core of the ski, the ski is more torsionally rigid underfoot and more durable. Bash a rock early season? No sweat. On snow, we think the w3dgewall helps this ski carve a whole lot harder. You're maybe not buying this ski for World Cup edge angles, but it sure makes getting back to the lift a whole lot more fun. But the bottom line? The Armada ARW 106 is the epitome of drfity and smear-y. A little stiffer than other skis with this shape, but not so stiff it feels like a plank, the ARW 106 is perfect for playful chargers who like a little more stout in their ski.
