(Un)common Kore

New Head Kores!

Some skis just don’t stick around long. That is, they sell faster than boozy water at a Red Rocks show. Since it debuted three seasons ago, the Head Kore has seemed like one of those skis.

Now a top choice for freeride and all-mountain skiers from coast to coast, the Kore gets its first redesign ahead of the 2021-22 ski season. Updates include new waist widths, variable rocker profiles, new sizing, chamfered sidewalls (for better durability), and profiles that vary in each waist width to optimize performance in specific types of snow and terrain.

The new Kores are also slightly lighter yet slightly stronger. Stiff and light, they are built with two sheets of carbon plus graphene and karuba. Those chamfered sidewalls run closer to the tips in narrower models, optimizing those skis for hard-snow performance.

Our first impressions from skiing the collection at Loveland Ski Area last spring? The Kore has only gotten better.

What’s New

The Kore series is redesigned. Narrower skis are more responsive with more camber for groomer and hard-snow skiing. Wider skis feature more rocker and surfier, more playful tips and tails. On the women’s side, you get the Kore 85 W, Kore 91 W, Kore 97 W, and Kore 103 W. The men’s lineup looks like this: Kore 87, Kore 93, Kore 99, Kore 105, Kore 111, and Kore 117.

New freestyle/all-mountain ski: Oblivion. Available in waist widths at 94mm, 84mm and 79mm.

New boot: Formula. With 98mm and 100mm last options, Formula appeals to skiers with narrow to mid-volume feet and/or aggressive skiers looking for a performance fit. Like Head’s other top-line boots, Formula features customizable Liquid Fit liners and PU shells.
