Read all of our Volkl Revolt 114 staff reviewsThese were the first Volkls I've ever skiied - I just had to see what all the hype was about. I wasn't sure if my early-season legs could stay on top of these skis, as they are a bit heavier than what I'm used to, but I had a blast at Loveland on the Volkl Revolt 114s. My partner and I both tried them out, and we were arguing over who got to keep them on! I am 5'10 and 150 lbs and he is 5'11 (supposedly ;) and 185 lbs, and we skiied the 177 cm length. We had fun skiing on sgoft snow and were amazed at how well these skis carved on groomers. These skis are great for someone seeking a stable, directional big-mountain ski.
By: LydiaWell, Volkl pulled off the impossible: they made a ski that charges harder than the Revolt 121. I have had so much fun riding these skis this year. When snow is soft (or even wet PNW style powder) these skis truly come to life. They are so stable at speed, and yet so easy to make all types of turn shapes. They float on top of deep powder, and crush through any chossy sections.

They are quite heavy at 4460 grams, and can be a little bit of a leg burner (early season especially), but it is so worth the weight. I was able to carve hard enough to touch the uphill on groomers on these, as well. So if the pow is skied off early, you will still be ripping on these tanks no matter the conditions.Our Take:
Big enough to charge through deep snow conditions, while being responsive underfoot in tight terrain and on firmer snow, the Volkl Revolt 114 is the formidable big mountain ski we know many skiers are looking for. It's almost as if Volkl knew freeriders were thirsting for something right in-between the powder-hunting Revolt 121 and freestyle-oriented Revolt 104. The Revolt 114 is perhaps the burliest of the bunch, with a flatter tail shape, less rocker, and weighs more than its big brother. That equals extra power to tackle the fall line with big turns, all on a wide platform that remains stable in big-mountain terrain. Strong directional skiers will delight in the heavier weight that pushes through crud like nobody's business. Volkl's classic 3D Sidecut Radius gives you control to maneuver the ski in tighter terrain. A multilayer wood core blends stiff beech and lively poplar, which feels predictable and poppy. Whether you pronounce it "ree-volt" or "revolt", the new Revolt 114 offers skiers a high-octane alternative to the often playful big-mountain category. We love this ski for strong skiers who like to ski the fall line with big turns, don't mind pushing a heavier ski for the gain in stability, and who like to beat their friends to the bottom of every run.
