The reason I bought the Woodsman 108 was this: I wanted a freeride ski that would be playful, surfy, and smeary like the Black Crows Atris but a little more directional with a little more oomf for charging through mixed snow or crud or chunder or whatever you call it. Man, the Woodsman 108 delivered. Once I found the sweet spot, it quickly became one of my all-time favorites. The mix of the directional shape with the forward-ish mount point and balanced rocker translates well to skiing exactly how I like to ski, with a mix of long-radius GS style turns and surfy, playful turns. FWIW, my ex-racer roommate found his pair borderline too playful, so if you used to crash gates and still ski that way, keep that in mind. For me, a powder-chasing hack who only rails groomers if there's no fresh snow and has never raced or taken a lesson in his life, the Woodsman just gets me.
