Expand your mind by expanding your skis. Literally. The Nordica Unleashed 120 takes their freeride ski platform and makes it, well, big! The Unleashed 120 is a powder freeride ski that balances performance in weird variable snow, while also being straight up fun to ski. Nordica uses a sheet of partial metal in the core to help dampen the ski, add some weight, and keep it tracking well through unpredictable snow. Nordica does some interesting things with the shape on the Unleashed. This ski has a tremendous amount of tip and tail splay. Lots of rocker too, but the tip and tail rise off the snow is much higher than the average ski. On snow, and especially deep snow, initiating turns is beyond intuitive. The ski also drifts and pivots very well. That said, the Unleashed has a low-key charging character to it. Long, fall line turns come just as naturally as easy quick ones. The ski's construction does a great job at smoothing out bumps along the way, if you manage to find a punch crust or two out there in the mountains. Compared to more playful and energetic options like the Bent Chetler 120, the Unleashed 120 is for the skier who likes a planted, smooth ride, without being locked into fall line turn shapes.
