After being redesigned last year, the Kastle FX 86 Ti returns for the 2022-2023 season. As the narrowest ski in the newly redesigned Kastle FX series, the 86 Ti begs you to open up the throttle on your favorite frontside runs. We're talking corduroy for breakfast, tree runs for lunch, and power-hour hot laps for afternoon tea. Because FX is short for "free cross," you can rest assured that these skis will handle various snow and terrain types across the front side of your favorite resort. Evidence? Freeride rocker, tapered shape, two sheets of metal for power, and lightweight paulownia in the woodcore to maximize maneuverability. That 86mm waist width carves so quickly that you'll make three turns before your brain tells your body what to do. We love these skis for skiers who spend most of their time working back and forth across the trail map, sampling all the goods their chosen playground has to offer. If you lean a little more toward off-piste skiing and powder-hunting, scale up to the 96 Ti. Similar skis: Stockli Stormrider 88, Volkl Kendo 88.
