2024-2025 Icelantic Saba Pro 107 Review
Lucky Seven. [Editor's Note: the 2024-2025 Icelantic Saba Pro 107 features new art, but it is the same ski structurally as when it was released. This Icelantic Saba Pro 107 review was originally published in April 2021.] Ahead of the 2020-21 ski season, our neighbors at Icelantic brought their professional athletes together to create two pro collab skis: the Saba Pro and the Nia Pro. Brand new for 2020-2021, the Icelantic Saba Pro storms onto the powder skiing seen with some serious street cred. It was dreamed up, conceptualized, and designed by the pro skiers on the Icelantic team, including Powder7 athlete Owen Leeper. You will know everything you need to know about these skis when you realize how differently some of the pros on the Icelantic team ski. Some prefer slashy, playful, and poppy powder skis. Others, like Owen, prefer stiffer tails for stomping landings and more heft for skiing fast down big lines. The Saba was built for each of these styles. How, you ask? Icelantic introduces Reflective Rocker, a new take on the zero camber design, which matches the rocker profiles with the sidecut radius. This allows all the benefits of a full-rocker design, like ultimate pow surf and playful maneuverability, plus better-than-usual edge grip on hard or mixed snow. The skis are strong without being bulky and playful without being unruly. If you like a wide ski or want to add one of the most fun powder sticks in the business to your quiver, even if you do not do pro-level stuff on the mountain, take a long look at the Saba.
