Our Take On The 2027 Ellis Sabr 100:
The Ellis Sabr 100 proves that handcrafted American ski manufacturing is not only alive and well, but absolutely thriving. Fresh off claiming the Freeskier Editor's Choice award in the all-mountain playful category, this flagship plank from Colorado-based boutique brand Ellis Skis turns the entire mountain into an open playground. At 100mm underfoot with a responsive poplar wood core, generous camber and tip-and-tail rocker, the Sabr 100 hits that elusive sweet spot between edge-holding confidence and surfy maneuverability. Designed without heavy metal laminates to keep the flex deep and approachable, it easily swivels through tight tree runs, slashes mogul fields, and floats over soft drifts. When tipped on edge on firm groomers, its generous effective edge bites predictably to hold a clean arc. It is a ski that rewards creative line choices, pop, and playfulness rather than relentless muscle power. We recommend the Ellis Sabr 100 for intermediate through expert riders looking for a versatile, US-made daily driver that brings maximum fun to every single run.
