The new DPS Pagoda Tour 105 alpine touring skis might offer the best skiability-to-weight ratio in the entire world of backcountry ski gear. Sure, that’s a totally arbitrary metric that we just made up. But the point is this: this newly revamped version of the Pagoda Tour sheds 75-100 grams versus the previous version (which was already a featherweight). It adds flax, which DPS weaves into the two full-width carbon sheets. Don’t think of the flax seeds from your favorite trendy hipster smoothie. Think of a material that adds smoothness and vibration dampening without adding heft. We’ve seen flax in some of our favorite resort skis to date. Now, it refines the downhill performance of a badass touring ski that’s the perfect waist width for day-to-day powder hunting. Safe to say: we’re into it.
