Our Take On The 2023 DPS Pagoda Lotus 117:
Brand new for the 2023 season, the DPS Lotus 117 caught all of our eyes at the late season demo day for 2023 skis last spring. The Lotus skis from DPS are all powder oriented, with the legendary Lotus 124 and the Powderworks 138 in the lineup. While ginormous skis are an absolute riot, not all of us live in Japan and eat feet of powder for breakfast. Enter: the Lotus 117. Still sitting solidly in the powder category, without feeling cumbersome for days in between storms. With a different shape and significantly longer turn radius compared to the DPS Pagoda RP 112, the Lotus 117 feels happiest taking long, sweeping turns over deep snow. Deep and low rocker ensures you’ll still find nimbleness and maneuverability in tight places. The premium Pagoda construction gives you supreme dampness and stability for navigating more variable snow, while the carbon laminate sandwich provides incredible energy for fully enjoying those powder wiggles. The best news? DPS developed the construction to prioritize a light weight, while maintaining performance, so you can easily explore the depths of the backcountry without a weight penalty. Not to mention, there are only a handful of skis you can find in this waist width with 171cm length. If the Lotus series has always called to you, but seemed a little excessive for our mediocre snowpack, let the Lotus 117 fill your cup.
