This Ski Is A Staff Favorite:
Straying away from DPS's normal style, this ski makes me ask a few questions. Is this a stereotypical lightweight touring ski that you would expect from DPS? Definitely not. Is it cute and cuddly like a Koala? Not even close. Is this a playful freeride powder ski or a directional powder and crud blasting charger? Yes...to both. At a first glance, the forward mount point and almost symmetrical shape will make you think that it is designed exclusively for a park rat turned big mountain skier. If that is you, then great, you'll probably love this ski. If, like me, that isn't you, then great, you'll also love this ski because there is a lot more to this ski than that. Underneath the playful, heavily rockered exterior is a beefy core that wants to go fast and it doesn't care about snow conditions. In powder, the deep tip and tail rocker make this ski easy to pivot and slash. Crud? What is that? Just point and go over anything and let the ski do all of the work. Then, at the end of the day, rip the groomer down to the parking lot faster than you have ever felt comfortable on a ski this wide. The final question I asked myself, and arguably the most important...is this one of my favorite powder skis out there right now? 100%.
