Blizzard Stormbird 82 DTI Skis

Our Take On The 2027 Blizzard Stormbird 82 DTI:

An all-new addition for Blizzard, the new Blizzard Stormbird 82 DTI aims to slot between their entry-level carvers and the top-end performance of the Firebird series. It’s a rock solid carver, that doesn’t require perfect precision and technique all day long. The Stormbird gets the same Trueblend wood core as the Thunderbird series (the next highest performer), just with less titanal. There’s still two sheets to provide that torsional rigidity, but the sheets are thinner. One sheet split into two. That prevents the skis from feeling overly rigid or too stiff, while still giving you plenty of stability to push speeds and edge angles. On snow, the Stormbird feels predictable and fun. You can carve hard, without trying too hard. At the same time, this ski does still require a level of technique and performance that we’d steer entry-level skiers away from. We think this is perfect for stoked intermediate skiers who just want to stay on piste, or advanced skiers looking for a solid frontside ski for the day to day.
