This Ski Is A Staff Favorite:

The Black Crow Corvus skis are like that friend who’s always ready for an adventure—bold, daring, and a little wild. With a rock-solid edge hold and a playful flex, they excel in everything from deep powder to hard-packed steeps, making them the Swiss Army knife of freeride skis. The Corvus doesn’t just ask you to trust it; it demands it. Power and precision? Check. Float and fun? Double-check. Whether you're carving through trees or sending cliffs, these skis are a no-nonsense, high-performance beast that’ll have you grinning from apex to base. They're not for the faint of heart—unless you want your heart to race.

I can't butter, but when skiing the Corvus flat on the base everything feels like a butter! The full rocker profile gives it a surprising amount of maneuverability -- picking lines through low cover (i.e. rocks poking out everywhere) on steep moguls is a breeze, because it can pivot on a dime. I really loved charging down open faces in variable snow, as well, because the double titinal sheets in the core give this ski tons of dampness and stability. At 107 underfoot it floats really well in soft snow, too! Taking a groomer back down to the lift? Set the edges and these things absolutely rail. Such a fun ski!

Our Take:

The Black Crows Corvus was the ski that started it all for Chamonix-based Black Crows. It's amassed a larger cult following over the years that loves its unique, drifty feel on snow and commitment to freeride performance. Last year, Black Crows dropped a doozie: the Corvus got a redesign and it's back with a fresh look for 25/26. Fear not young freeriders, the Corvus is still the freeride machine that cranks out long days skiing steep and deep terrain, with a few updates that make the ride more skiable across tough snow conditions. First, camber. Not a lot, but a low-slung, pivot-y camber that keeps this ski's drifty nature in tight terrain. Adding camber from the flat camber profile gives you more control when the ski runs flat, and adds more snap in and out of turns. They also added some more taper in the tips and tails to add a touch more forgiveness behind you when you need to release the tail in tight terrain, compared to the older flatter tail. With a rockered tip and tail profile, this ski easily gets sideways. Plug in a titanal sheet, poppy wood core, and you're off to the races. Despite adding a few features that make it easier to carve your way back to the lift and trim some weight, the Corvus soul is alive and well. The ride is unique, and undeniably something the Crows in Chamonix have cooked up.
