Kastle Skis 2023: The First Look
In a year with many changes and new skis across the board, Kastle actually maintains a lot of their lineup for 2023. They’re coming off a big year — Kastle overhauled their popular FX line back in 2022, adding metal to their freeride (“freecross”) skis to create even more stability and power. They also released their new freeride collection, the ZX, which we’ve thoroughly enjoyed spending time on all last year. So, what’s new for Kastle this year? Surprisingly, the biggest news isn’t in the skis. Kastle is finally breaking into the boot scene.
For 2023, Kastle is releasing an entire new lineup of alpine boots. There are two styles: race and performance. Their elite, race level K150R and K130R come trim with additional features like lifter plates and K-Blend (a precise blend of plastics for more consistent flex in all temperatures) and a very, very, narrow last (93.5mm in a 28.5). For us regular folk, the performance collection offers a variety of flexes with a performance fit to give you a responsive ride. We’re stoked to try these out on our feet. Knowing what we know about Kastle skis, these boots are sure to set you up well for the next level. Not to mention, check out that minty fresh color reminiscent of their race skis.

What’s New
One of our favorite touring ski lineups returns with a few new additions. The TX103, TX93, and TX87 all return with just a top sheet upgrade, but Kastle adds a TX93 W and TX87 W. These women’s skis feature the exact same construction internally as the men’s, just offered in shorter lengths with an alternate top sheet. With the very attractive teal color, we think the TX W’s will be winning over more than just the ladies this year.
The major news for the TX line is the introduction of the new TX65 World Cup. Weighing a shocking 690 grams per ski, the TX65 WC is fully capable for ski mountaineering races and folks pushing the speed of sound. Well, maybe not that fast, but really fast.
The RX12 series returns unchanged, but does get a new somewhat related addition. The new Kastle RX11 offers the top tier performance from the RX12 in a slightly more accessible and easy going package. This thing still crushes gates, but it won’t quite crush you. With the Race Hollowtech and their stiff poplar/beech wood core, the RX11 offers folks who love to carve hard and fast something that can support their wildest dreams.
Other Highlights
The classic MX line returns with the same construction since the last redesign in 2021, but with a fresh paint job. Big names are the MX83, MX88, and MX98.
After an overhaul last season, the FX series returns completely unchanged for 2022-23. The freeride oriented ZX also comes back without any updates.
