Check out the gear we’re using year-round.
While we skiers delight in snowy slopes and fresh turns, you simply cannot have winter year-round. That’s what makes it so special (unless you travel from hemisphere to hemisphere in search of endless winter). But, we make do through the summer months nonetheless. Since we’re avid outdoor enthusiasts even when the snow stops flying, we’ve made a few summer-oriented products that we know skiers in hibernation will enjoy. Whether you spend your long off-season days riding bikes, hiking in the mountains, or searching for sand dunes to ski, you’ll find this Powder7 merch handy. Plus, a few items that serve you year-round.

Powder7 Water Cycle Sun Hoody

Any outdoor enthusiast will tell you that a sun shirt is essential gear. A lightweight long-sleeve goes a long way in cooling you down by keeping your skin covered and protected from the sun. You don’t have to reapply sunscreen all day, and the fabric’s protection from the sun keeps you from overheating. Our Water Cycle Sun Hoody features custom art by our very own Sarah Beabout that shows that our beloved snow that falls in the winter is water to be enjoyed year round. In not one, but two colors!
Powder7 Gnarnia Tote

You’ll see us talking about the Gnarnia Tote all winter long. But the insider secret? The Gnarnia Tote works just as well for summer sports as it does winter. The felt lined pockets cradle sunglasses just like goggles, and ample side pockets work great for easy access to snacks or bubbly beverages. We love this tote for making it easy to bring everything you need from the garage to the car, or for parking lot carpool meet-ups and jumping into someone else’s care.
Powder7 x Hydrapak H2Go

To be honest, this is the piece of gear I use the most. This humble gear writer uses it on every bike ride, hike, and almost every after-work evening jog. The crushability of this water bottle allows you to save space in a pack or running vest as you consume the precious hydration. It’s also significantly lighter than plastic, making it more comfortable to bring along for long adventures.
Powder7 Always Going Hat

For the folks who find their calendars full of outdoor adventures and brewery hangs back to back, meet the Always Going Hat. Our first soft crushable design is perfect for athletic pursuits. Any of them! All of them! The soft mesh back of the hat makes for easy airflow as you work up a sweat in zone 4 on the uphill climb. The crushable front packs easily into a pack or running vest if you need to switch headgear. And if you like to layer headgear, the low profile will layer seamlessly under a beanie or balaclava. Plus, an internal sweatband keeps the hat from getting…icky. So you can wear this to apres confidently and stylishly. From summer to winter, if you’re always going from dawn to dusk and back again, this hat will keep up with you.
Patagonia R1 Thermal Zip-up (men’s / women’s fit)

Summer in the high alpine can get chilly at night. A cozy fleece is a versatile piece of gear that goes well beyond a single season. You’ll find yourself reaching for this in the autumn for leaf peeping, in the spring for touring, and midwinter under your jacket. And in the summer? Throw it on at night around the campfire, or as an early morning layer on your way up a big peak. We’re partial to this Patagonia R1 piece. The zip-up style makes it easy to throw on or off as the conditions change.
Powder7 Summit Squeeze

This classic squeeze water bottle design fits perfectly in a standard water bottle cage for a bike. The MountainFlow cap design is unique to these bottles and has accomplished a no-spill count thus far in rigorous pre-season testing. Impressive stuff for a water bottle, if you ask us. And in case you were worried about buying yet another water bottle, this bottle is BPA-free and made from wheat plastic. The little specks in the bottle are plant fibers, lowering the environmental impact of producing these bottles. So, whatever summit you find yourself squeezing, you can feel good about the hydration system you brought with you.
Powder7 Snowmelt Bottle

We hate to see snow melt. We just do, as skiers. But, snowmelt does lead to one of the most delicious consumables in the world: water. What better way to enjoy this critical fluid than our new Snowmelt water bottle? We took one of our favorite Sarah Beabout designs from this season and collaborated with Hydrapak on their Recon twist and sip water bottle. The twist-style cap spins 180 degrees to lock the lid in place when you’re not using it. When you’re ready to rehydrate, the simple twist unlocks a pleasant sipping experience. No accidental big dumps of water on your lap or face from taking a drink from a wide-mouthed water bottle. If you need a new daily water bottle that says, “I like water just fine, but I’d rather it be snow,” our new Snowmelt water bottle will do just the trick.
