You really can't go wrong with any board in K2's Landscape line and this board is no exception. This board has a poppy core with enough carbon to keep it relatively stiff however with the extra width you can torsionally flex and manipulate it enough to dig trenches. Like deep, deep human-sized trenches. A lot of boards with this directional profile lack some pop because of the shorter tail however because of the carbon layout this has excellent pop. Can you ride switch? Sure just don't look down. The excavator is perfect for the rider looking to carve his way to every powder stash available on the mountain.

Our Take On The 2025 K2 Excavator:

With a name like that, this board sets high expectations (and spoiler: it delivers). The K2 Excavator charges through chunder, relocates powder, and digs a trench on groomers like a John Deere 870 P-Tier. Everything about the Excavator is designed to maximize performance for high speed, confident carving and riding through powder. The first thing you'll notice about this board is the shape: directionally cambered, with tip and tail rise, a splash of additional tip rocker for extra pow float and smooth turn initiation, and a volume shift design. The extra wide platform gives extra float in powder while remaining manuverable. You can size down about 5cm on this board without losing any performance, and riders with larger feet benefit from less toe drag. The mad scientists at K2 built the internals to be incredibly damp--with their durable S1 Core, snappy and supportive fiberglass and carbon wrap, and the aptly named Carbon Power Fork. Two pre-cambered metal pieces tucked in the tail construction act like a turbo boost, adding extra energy, pop, and power in and out of turns. K2 even added a textured SnoPhobic top sheet, to shed snow and make sure nothing weighs you down on the deepest of deep days. For advanced riders looking to ride as hard as they want with no holding back, the K2 Excavator is the heavy machinery of your dreams.
