Highlights from the 2019 G3 ski gear lineup:
Light, Strong, Versatile
G3 expands their alpine touring binding options for 2019 by adding a newcomer: the Zed 12.
The Zed builds off G3’s popular Ion construction. Like other slimmed-down touring bindings, several of which are also new this year, the Zed comes with a leash and gives you the option to add brakes. Unlike others, though, the Zed isn’t concerned with pleasing frenetic gram-counters.
It’s lighter than the Ion, but it retains strong vibration-absorbing toe construction from its predecessor and offers forward pressure and rolling pins (which decrease wear on your boots) in the heels. G3 also put the heel piece on a track that adjusts to different boot soles with 30mm of travel to increase versatility and convenience.
Skins for All
G3 also offers brings a wide array of climbing skins to the touring scene. The Alpinist comes in Universal, Grip, Glide, Speed, and Pow versions.
