Highlights from the 2019 Dynafit ski gear lineup:
Big Year for Backcountry
Dynafit has long led the charge backcountry skiing/alpine touring technology. At a time when many ski companies are diving into the touring scene, Dynafit just keeps innovating.
For 2019, they tweak the binding lineup. The Radical ST 2.0 and FT 2.0 become the Rotation 10 and Rotation 12, retaining the rotating toepieces, adding Easy Lock technology (to make locking the toes easier), and shedding some weight. The Rotation is also offered in a 7-DIN version for young tourers.
The ST comes back as the ST Radical at a lighter weight with no rotating toepiece.
Big Boot Release
Dynafit’s major releases for 2019 are the Hoji Pro Tour and Hoji PX alpine touring boots, offered in both men’s and women’s models.
The Pro Tour models feature Grilamid shell construction and stiffer flexes (130 and 120 to the PXs’ 120 and 110) at an even lighter weight. The shells of the PX line, meanwhile, feature Pebax construction.
The kicker: all boots in the series give you the ability to enter walk mode and loosen your buckles at the same time, using the Hoji Lock System. Then you climb with 55 degrees of cuff rotation.
