2024-2025 K2 Skis Preview

You Reckon?

With a successful launch of the new, playful Mindbender C family, and the more charge-y Mindbender Ti, K2 has the bandwidth to work on their freestyle-focused Reckoner series. With brand-new molds, new construction, and shape, the all-new Reckoner skis are a force to reckon with. Sorry, too easy! We break it all down in our new K2 skis 2025 preview.

K2 Skis 2025: The First Look

What’s New

The big news from K2 this year is the new Reckoner series. The changes include all-new molds and shapes. Deep rocker in the tip and tail that features a lot of splay and rise. As with freestyle-focused skis, you can find nearly symmetrical tip and tail rocker. K2 keeps its carbon spectral braid (a weave of carbon stringers that optimizes power where you need it and more flex). In these Reckoners, the weave is tighter underfoot for more stability there, with more open weaves in the tip and tail for more play.

These Reckoners also get the Triaxial Braided Core, found in the Omen (and former Poacher skis). That construction interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled core, increasing the torsional stiffness of the ski while retaining the flex of a simple wood core ski.

K2 also installed the TwinTech Sidewall, which adds extra sidewall material through the tips and tails. They’ve also chamfered the top sheets near the edges for better durability (and keep your sticks looking better for longer).

On snow, that all means the skis are beefier and designed to be more torsionally rigid. That gives you more stability generally, but stable rides in firm snow or choppy conditions. The new Reckoners are offered in 102, 110, 124. You’ll get a women’s graphic on the 102 and 110 in select sizes. Incredibly, the Reckoner 124 will come in a full-size run down to 159 cm. I can count on one hand how many skis over 116mm are offered under 165. There’s also a pro model Reckoner 114 KF from Karl Fostvedt, with an even softer flex.

Other Highlights

The Mindbender series (both metal laminate Ti models and carbon braided C models) come back with new graphics. They also add brightly colored, full-width bases to almost every model. These look quite sharp.

New Omen skis that replace Poacher skis. These are more park-specific freestyle models. True twin shapes with a flex that supports the rowdiest of comps or urban shred seshes.
